Prevent paying twice for one and the same Office365 service and end your current service. The new purchase within the DSD platform has to be completed before the current service ends.
Purchased at Microsoft
At Microsoft, you can opt for a monthly or yearly subscription. To end these subscriptions, you can just turn off the ‘automatic renewal’ option for both subscriptions. We explain below how this is done. You can also terminate your subscription at Microsoft before the subscription expiry date, but this will often lead to additional charges. These additional charges will become apparent during the termination process.
Monthly / yearly
To end a monthly or yearly subscription, you only need to disable the ‘automatic renewal’ option. You do this by logging onto the Office365 portal. Here, choose ‘billing > subscriptions’. Search for the subscription you want to end and click ‘disable automatic renewal’. This option is shown on the right-hand side. In this panel you will also find the option to cancel your subscription before its expiry date.
Note: Make sure you complete your new purchase within the DSD platform one or two days before the expiry date of your current subscription. This will ensure that a valid license will be present.
Purchased at Authorised Distributor
At an authorized Microsoft distributor, you can choose a monthly or yearly subscription. Below, we explain how to end both types of subscriptions.
Yearly
The yearly subscription is renewed using a product key. This key has to be entered within the Office 365 portal of the end-user. This key automatically expires. Therefore, you do not have to take any additional action to end the yearly subscription.
Note: Make sure you complete your new purchase within the DSD platform one or two days before the expiry date of your current subscription. This will ensure that a valid license will be present.
Monthly
The monthly subscriptions have to be ended at the current distributor. The term of notice differs from distributor to distributor. We advise to contact your distributor before ending your subscription. Ask for the exact expiry date of your current subscription.
